Glass was a rare material fit for royalty thousands of years ago. Laminated glass is created by bonding multiple layers of glass with interior layers of polyvinyl butyral (PVB) or ethylene-vinyl acetate (EVA). The internal PVB or EVA layers can impart extra safety, strength, color, UV resistance, security, and noise-dampening properties to the glass. Because of the laminated internal layer, laminated glass is impact, blast and breakage resistant. Instead of breaking into shards, the lamination holds the broken pieces together in one layer.
